Court-Ordered Community Service Volunteer
Spring Lake Family Support Service at The Kinsey House, court-ordered community service isn’t just about fulfilling a requirement, it’s a chance to make a real difference. We offer meaningful volunteer opportunities where individuals can contribute to vital programs that support families, uplift communities, and create lasting change. Whether you're assisting with food distribution, helping at outreach events, or keeping our spaces clean and welcoming, your time and effort directly impact lives. We believe in second chances and are committed to providing a respectful, structured environment where every volunteer is valued and empowered to give back with purpose. Engaging in community service through our program has the potential to reduce crime recidivism by fostering accountability, building life skills, and encouraging positive connections.

Court-Ordered Volunteer Approval Process
All individuals seeking to complete court-ordered community service must receive prior approval before beginning any volunteer hours. To initiate the approval process, please complete the online Court-Ordered Volunteer Application and email your court documentation to springlakefamilyservice@gmail.com. Your paperwork must include the case number, charge or violation, defendant’s full name, court name, and court address. Once submitted, our team will review your documents and notify you of your approval status.

Please note: Volunteer hours will not be verified or counted without prior written approval. This policy applies to all individuals completing service through court orders, parole, probation, halfway houses, diversion programs, or any other requirement mandated by a legal or government agency, regardless of conviction status or program conditions.

Important Information After Approval
Once approved, you are responsible for tracking your own volunteer hours. Our clock-in/out system is used only to verify the hours you submit, it is not a timekeeping tool. You must record your hours each time you volunteer using our official timesheet. Hours that are not properly logged or paperwork missing required details (including your email and total hours) will not be verified.

All court-ordered service must be completed at our office: 126 N 1st Street, Spring Lake, NC 28390. Please finish your hours at least one week before you need verification to allow time for processing.
As a court-ordered volunteer, you are held to a higher standard. You must follow all rules, laws, and professional expectations—both written and understood. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for any violations, and you may not assume that privileges given to other volunteers apply to you.
