​Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
In partnership with Mid-Carolina Regional Council

A free, full‑day training designed to equip adults with the knowledge and confidence to support adolescents facing mental health challenges. Hosted by Spring Lake Family Support Services at the Kinsey House in partnership with Mid‑Carolina Regional Council, this training focuses on strengthening community awareness, early recognition, and compassionate response.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the LEEM Training Center, 108 McKenzie Road, Spring Lake, NC 28390. Participants will experience a welcoming, educational environment centered on empowerment, understanding, and practical skill‑building.

What you'll learn
Attendees will receive guidance on how to recognize and respond to common mental health concerns affecting youth ages 12–18, including:

Anxiety and depression

Substance use challenges

Psychosis‑related disorders

Disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD)

Eating disorders
The course also introduces a 5‑step action plan to assist young people in both crisis and non‑crisis situations, helping parents, caregivers, educators, and community members feel prepared and supported.
